What size truck do I need for a UTV truck rack?
Tow Smart UTV racks are built for full-size half-ton and three-quarter-ton pickups with either a short bed (6' to 6'8") or a long bed (8'). The Short Bed Rack fits trucks like the F-150, Silverado 1500, RAM 1500, and Tundra. The Long Bed Rack fits 8' beds such as the F-250, Silverado 2500HD, and RAM 2500. Can you tow a trailer while using a UTV truck rack?
Yes. That's the main advantage of a UTV truck rack over a trailer. Because the UTV sits above the truck bed, your factory hitch stays completely free. You can haul your side-by-side on the rack and still tow a camper, boat, enclosed trailer, or fuel trailer behind you. Always confirm your truck tow rating and combined weight before towing.

Does the UTV rack fit a Can-Am X3 or Polaris RZR Pro?
Yes. We offer a dedicated UTV rack model engineered to fit the Can-Am Maverick X3, X3 Max, and Polaris RZR Pro series — including 4-seat variants. This rack includes 12' loading ramps to handle the wider track width and longer wheelbase. For other UTV models, our standard short-bed and long-bed racks fit most production side-by-sides.
How do you load a UTV onto a truck rack?
Loading takes one person and a few minutes: position the ramps from the rear of the rack to the ground at a safe angle, drive the UTV up the ramps onto the deck slowly in low gear, secure the UTV with tie-downs at all four wheel points, then stow the ramps on the rack for travel. We strongly recommend wheel straps over frame straps to protect the suspension during transport.
Can I haul a 4-seat UTV on a truck rack?
Yes, with the right rack. Our Long Bed UTV Truck Rack is sized for 4-seat machines like the Can-Am X3 Max, RZR Pro XP 4, and Polaris Ranger Crew on 8' truck beds. The Long Bed model offers additional platform support and stability over the Short Bed rack, which is sized for 2-seat UTVs. The 3,000-lb load rating handles 4-seat UTV weights without issue.
